In the end, all guys end up in a circus show to get hold of the diamonds. These are strewn all over the ground in public by a gorilla. Raju escapes with Pappu's cellphone and three big guns with him, which are worth crores of rupees and he does not know about it. So he tries to throw the guns into the river to get rid of the whole trouble. But fortunately for him, the guns get stuck somewhere. He tries to go down and throw them into the water. When Baburao and Shyam come to know about the worth of the gun from Pappu who is arrested, they call him on Pappu's phone. The film ends with Raju busy trying to reach for the guns with his phone ringing.

Synopsis
Although they have been friends for years, Karan and Kishan have grown apart and have little in common. The widower Karan is a poor engineer who lives in a humble house in the country. Kishan is a rich man with a vast business empire with little time for old friends. However, when Karan prepares to work abroad and earn more money, he turns to Kishan to solve a problem. Will Kishan let Karan's daughter Suman (Bhagyashree) stay at his house? Kishan cannot turn down his old friend's request and Suman comes to live with Kishan's family.
At first country girl Suman is ill at ease in the huge mansion. She is befriended by Kishan's son Prem (Salman Khan), who assures her that he has no romantic interest in her and that a boy and a girl can be platonic friends. The pair share outings and confidences and all seems to be going well.
Then Prem takes Suman to a party put on by some of his rich friends. They humiliate Suman and accuse her of scheming to marry Prem. Suman leaves in tears and distances herself from Prem. At that point, Prem suddenly realizes that he has fallen in love with her. With aid of his mother (who likes the unassuming Suman) and his comic friend Manohar, Prem sets out to win Suman's heart.
He succeeds, but their romance is balked by Prem's father Kishan, who does not want his son to marry a poor nobody. He prepares to send Suman home in disgrace. At this unpropitious moment, Karan returns from overseas. Kishan accuses him of plotting to match Prem and Suman. Karan and Kishan quarrel; Karan and Suman then return to their village humiliated.
Prem refuses to accept the separation. He defies his father and is disinherited. He goes to Suman's village and begs to be allowed to marry her. Karan, angered by Kishan's accusations, says that he will allow the marriage on one condition: Prem must prove that he can support a wife by his own efforts.
Karan, meanwhile, takes back Suman home and the daughter sulks till Prem acts as a rescuer. But since Prem is now disinherited, Karan puts forward the condition that Prem should earn two thousand rupees within a month to prove that he can take care of Suman. Prem then works as a truck driver and laborer. At the end of the month, while Prem is ready with the required money and comes to win the heart of his lady's father, This melts Karan's heart, and he agrees to letting Suman marry Prem. By the end of the movie, the estrangement between Karan and Kishan ends too.
Prem and Suman live happily ever after.
Songs
The Maine Pyar Kiya soundtrack was very successful in India. Suman's role was sung by the famous playback singer Lata Mangeshkar; S. P. Balasubrahmanyam sang for Prem. Folk singer Sharda Sinha has also sung in the film.
The opening track, Aate Jaate, is said to have been inspired by Stevie Wonder's 1984 single, I Just Called to Say I Love You, while the whistling and humming interludes in Aaya Mausam Dosti Ka used the hook from Baltimora's hit, Tarzan Boy. Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali was directly taken from Swedish rock band Europe's 1986 single, The Final Countdown and theme from Love Story, Where Do I Begin. The track Antakshri was a medley of various Bollywood songs based on the Antakshari game, which was popularized with this film's release. The remaining tracks, including the popular Dil Deewana, were original compositions.

Synopsis
The first half of the movie is pure family fun and full of love. The eldest son, Vivek (Mohnish Behl), meets Sadhna (Tabu). Sadhna is immediately attracted to him. She meets him first at his parents' anniversary party. She is immediately taken by the love he has for his parents, despite Mamta (Reema Lagoo) not being his biological mother. Sadhna's father goes to visit Ramkishen (Alok Nath), explaining that he took Sadhna to the party so she could meet Vivek and asks for Sandhna's marriage proposal. Ramkishen is overjoyed, being as the family was worrying about Vivek's marital life. Vivek, though, is not looking forward to this union.
Vivek lost the use of his hand to save his younger brother's lives many years ago and thinks his hand would be too much of a burden on Sadhna. But Sadhna sticks by her decision. Vivek is touched by her dedication to him, so the two are married.
Prem (Salman Khan) and Preeti (Sonali Bendre) have had a crush on each other since they were little kids, but they have never ever spoken of their love. Although it is quite obvious, neither are exactly sure of the other's feelings. It doesn't really matter because they are to have an arranged marriage. Their engagement is finalised after a comedy scene in which Vinod (Saif Ali Khan) and Sapna (Karishma Kapoor) pretend to be Prem and Preeti, acting like they like each other.
Vinod and Sapna are the youngest couple and are very fun-loving and flirty with each other. The three brothers have a sister, Sangeeta (Neelam Kothari), who is married and has a daughter. She lives with her husband's brother and family.
The twist to the story comes when Sangeeta's brother-in-law throws his brother out of the house without any share in the property and this leads three of Mamta's snobby friends and Sapna's father to persuade Mamta to separate her sons to prevent a similar situation where Vivek might throw out Prem and Vinod. They convince Mamta that if the three brothers live in the same house with their wives and future kids, then fights and complications will occur. This leads to a tangled web of problems and sadness. Sadhna becomes pregnant in the midst of all the trouble. Vivek and Sadhna move to Rampur to finish their factory. Sangeeta's brother-in-law has loss in his business and other family problems, and he realizes his mistake. He accepts Sangeeta and her husband back. Sangeeta explains to her mother how Vivek had helped her during this crisis. Mamta's brother explains to her that she's not being fair to Vivek and she doesn't have trust in the values she gave her sons. Mamta realizes her fault and calls Vivek and Sadhna back. Sadhna's baby is born. At the end, Prem and Vinod get married to Preeti and Sapna respectively.

Plot
The story was adapted from the film Nadiya Ke Paar (1982) also made by Rajshri Productions. It tells the story of two lovers, Prem (Salman Khan) and Nisha (Madhuri Dixit) who are very fun loving, cheerful and full of mischief. Prem's elder brother, Rajesh (Mohnish Behl), is to be married to Nisha's elder sister, Pooja (Renuka Shahane). Prem's uncle (Alok Nath) and Nisha's parents (Anupam Kher and Reema Lagoo) were college friends and when they meet, they arrange Rajesh and Pooja's marriage. During the marriage a lot of fun and mischief happens until it is time for Pooja to leave to her new home.
Prem gets along well with his sister-in-law, and soon they discover that Pooja is pregnant. Pooja's parents are unable to come to the ceremony marking the arrival of the baby so they send Nisha instead. While she is there, she and Prem fall in love with each other. Later, Nisha's parents come over to Pooja's house for a few days and when they have to go, everybody persuades them to stay over for a day. Then when the day for them to leave comes, everybody is sad, especially Prem as he has become very close to Nisha.
Then one day Pooja goes to stay at her parents' house and Prem follows her there. Once they reach the house, Pooja finds out that Prem and Nisha love each other. She promises to get them married and gives Nisha the family necklace. Then the phone rings and Pooja goes to answer it. She is very happy and is hopping down the stairs when her foot accidentally slips and she dies from a head injury after falling off the stairs. Everybody is sad about the accident. Nisha takes good care of Pooja's child and everybody thinks that she will be a great mother to the baby and so Prem's father and Nisha's parents talks about a marriage between Rajesh and Nisha. Nisha overhears her parents talking about her being the daughter-in-law of the house that her sister was from, and she mistakenly thinks that she is getting married to Prem. Later at a preparation ceremony, she finds out that she is marrying Rajesh.
Prem and Nisha agree to sacrifice their love for Rajesh and the baby. At the wedding, Nisha gives Tuffy (Prem's dog) the necklace that her sister had given her together with a letter, to pass it to Prem. Mr. Harishchandra informs Prem of his plans to matchmake him, as he believes Prem is of proper age, young enough to adapt to someone else, and, Prem's brother, Sunil (Samir Soni), was about the same age when he married Bhavna (Lata Sabharwal). Prem, however, is hesitant to marry, since he thinks himself to be too young and wants to focus on his career first. Harishchandra convinces him to meet Poonam first. Krishna Kant invites Prem's family to their summer residence in Som Sarovar and Harishchandra accepts.
Poonam anxiously awaits Prem to come to Som Sarovar, however, until Bhavna arranges a meeting between the two, they barely have the chance to talk to each other. After several carefree days, Harishchandra and his family has to leave again because of the family business, which leaves Poonam and Prem only the opportunity to communicate via telephone, internet or letter. Despite the distance between them, they grow closer and Prem, before going to a business trip to Japan, Poonam tells him on the phone that she has fallen in love with him. When Prem comes back from Japan, Poonam is there to greet him on the airport, gets to spend some time at his house and finally returns to her own family on order to prepare for the wedding.
However, a night before the actual wedding, a fire emerges at Krishna Kant's house. Even though Poonam runs out of the house in time, she realizes that Rajni is still inside and goes to save her. In this attempt Poonam gets heavily burnt. Prem, occupied with his own wedding preparations, is informed by Bhavna of Poonam's accident and goes to see his fiancee at the hospital. She is very unsure if Prem will marry her, now that she has been scarred. The doctor (Mohnish Behl) informs the family that there is hope, however the operation to save Poonam may be dangerous and Poonam will take much time to recover. Harishchandra arranges for specialists to be flown in from Delhi and Prem, despite her injury, still wishes to marry her and accepts her as a wife by bringing sindhoor to her at the hospital. The operation is successful and the wedding commences. They get married joyfully and enjoy their lives together as husband and wife.
