Superstar Amitabh Bachchan initiates the show with rollover contestant Mitali Banerjee. She starts off her quest with assurance after winning Rs.6, 40,000 on the previous show. During the game, Mitali falters little bit on one question when she makes use of her two lifelines but in due course gets the answer right. Eventually she withdraws from the game and takes home the hefty amount of Rs. 25,00,000. Another contestant, Amitava Mallick, whose aim is to pay the Bank Loan he has taken for his Mother's house. For one question none of the lifelines helps him in finding one apparent answer. In the end he withdraws from the game taking away Rs. 1,60,000. New contestant, Shivangi Soni has the aspiration to become Principle for a Degree college. She puts across her wish to invite Amitabh Bachchan for a dinner with his Husband. Shivangi Soni starts off by utilizing her first lifeline in the first question of her gameplay.Shivangi after consuming all the lifelines in the game pulls out of the show after winning Rs. 6,40,000. In the end of the show Amitabh Bachchan reads out the humorous little verse sent by Mukesh Yadav from Bulandshahr in the "Chand KBC ke Chhand" segment of the show.

Kaun Banega Crorepati, popularly known as KBC is an Indian reality/game show based on the UK game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" The show first aired in 2000 and was hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. This was the first appearance of Bachchan on Indian television. The show is hugely popular in India. The 5th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati will once again be hosted by Mr Amitabh Bachchan.
