Shakuni provokes Duryodhan against Bhishma
Shakuni pretends to take care of Dhritarashtra and provokes him against Bhishma. Dhritarashtra promises and assures Duryodhan that he will be the next King of Hastinapur. Later, Shakuni informs Duryodhan about his plan to throw the Pandavaas out of Hastinapur. He provokes Duryodhan against Bhishma. Vidura informs Bhishma about Duryodhan's behaviour towards the Pandavaas. Dushyasan makes fun of the Pandavaas. Vidura forces Duryodhan to allocate places for the Pandavaas in the dining room.

Shakuni informs Duryodhan that Pandavaas are his enemies
Kunti and her sons arrive at Hastinapur. She gets down from the chariot and walks towards the palace. She informs her sons about their hundred brothers and the elders. Shakuni informs Duryodhan that the Pandavaas are his enemies. Karna unintentionally seeks Kunti's blessings. Bhishma, Dhritarashtra and Gandhari welcome Kunti and her sons. Dushyasan asks the Pandavaas to seek blessings of his brothers. Meanwhile, Bhishma instructs Duryodhan and his brothers to seek blessings of Yudhishthir as he is elder to everyone.

Bhishma suggests Shakuni to return to Gandhar
Satyavati decides not to return to Hastinapur and asks Vidur to make Yudhishthir as the next ruler of Hastinapur. The citizens of Hastinapur are unhappy with Dhritarashtra's decision of appointing Duryodhan as his successor. Bhishma suggests Shakuni to return to Gandhar and asks him to convey to Dhritarashtra, not to appoint Duryodhan as his successor, till Pandu's sons come to Hastinapur. Shakuni persuades Dhritarashtra to convince Vidur to announce Duryodhan as his successor. Karna decides to learn archery and leaves Hastinapur.
