Ram, Sita and Laxman with Rishi Sutikshan were resting in the jungle. Sita looking at the mountain says, if this mountain was not there they could have looked on the other side too. Sutikshan says this wish, Sun too had once. He tells them about mountain Vindhya, who was jealous of mountain Maru for his height. One day Vindhya started growing taller, so that he could be the tallest. Sun was on his way from west to east, but because of mountain Vindhya's new acquired height, he couldn't reach there. So he requested Vindhya to let him cross otherwise there will be darkness through out in the west, but Vindhya refused. Sun went to Indra Devta with his problem. When Indra Devta came to Vindhya and asked him to give way to Sun, he refused him too. All the Devta had a meeting and they decided to take Rishi Agustya's help. Sun goes to Rishi Agustya and tells him the destruction which could take place if Vindhya Mountain doesn't give way to Sun. Rishi Agustya promises to help.
